Ms. Chelimo is the Board Chairperson for Land and Equity Movement Uganda, where she offers strategic leadership with a team of multi-professional Board Members towards supporting vulnerable communities in Uganda to secure their land
rights and achieve sustainable and productive land use.
She is also the Board Chairperson of Uganda Community Based Association for Women and Children, the Resource Person for Land Justice and Focal Person for the Democratic Processes Sub-Programme at the Governance and Security
Programme Secretariat formerly known as the Justice, Law and Order Sector Secretariat based at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in Uganda.
Ms. Chelimo is an advocate of the High Court with over 17 years working experience and she holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights, Social Justice and Development from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda
Management Institute and additional qualifications in Programming/Planning, Performance Management and Monitoring.
Ms. Chelimo has vast experience in human rights, land governance, alternative dispute resolution, advocacy, policy reforms and implementation of access to justice reforms, and Programme/Project Planning and Management.
Ms. Chelimo offers free legal advisory services to her community and is passionate about access to justice and human rights protection and promotion for all most especially the marginalized, poor and vulnerable persons in society, and environmental protection and ecological safeguarding
