Muhamed Lunyagi
Muhamed Lunyago is a Doctoral Fellow, completing an interdisciplinary PhD in Social Studies at the Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR), Makerere University. He holds an Interdisciplinary MPhil in Social Studies (2022) and Bachelor of Development Studies (2018) both from Makerere University.
His doctoral research focuses on the land question in Uganda. His broader research interests are interdisciplinary focusing on: land and agrarian questions; the peasantry and peasant movements; the politics of environment and climate change; state-society relations; and politics, power and the question of and development’.
He currently serves as a Vice Chair of Land and Equity Movement in Uganda (LEMU)'s Working Group on land and agrarian questions. Muhamed was a Guest Researcher at the University of Bergen in the department of Government in 2022. Before joining MISR, he was working with the Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda (ACCU) under the
advocacy and research department.
